Leave the dentures in until we see you tomorrow. Do not take them
out.
Instructions for immediate
dentures
For
the next week leave your new dentures in at all times. Take them out only to
clean them, put them back in as soon as you have cleaned them.
Rinse your mouth out with hot salt water - use half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of hot water. Do this 6 to 10 times a day for the next 5 days. The more you do this the better, as it helps with healing. Take the dentures out to do this, and replace them straight after.
Cleaning your denture - do this over a basin filled with water, (if you drop the denture it will not break). Scrub the denture with soap and water using the brush provided, rinse well before placing it back in your mouth.
The dentures are new and it will take some time for your mouth to become accustomed to them. The first couple of weeks you should expect discomfort, as the dentures will not settle in properly until healing of the wounds has occurred. Please be patient. Often it takes a number of visits and adjustments to get things comfortable.
Any problems
at all please do call us. Good luck!
